Delete your Koala account
You can delete your account in Koala: Collab & Hang Out, the app from Koala Community Inc, at any time. You don't need to reinstall the app. If you can't get into it, email us and we'll do it for you.
Delete it in the app
Open Koala and sign in.
Go to your profile and tap Settings.
Tap Account, then Delete account.
Read the summary and tap Delete account to confirm.
Can't get into the app?
Email us from the email address on your account. If you sign in with a phone number, put that number in your email.
Before we delete anything, we'll confirm the request with you using the email address or phone number on your account, so nobody else can delete it. Once you confirm, your deletion follows the same timeline as deleting in the app.
What happens right away
- You're signed out on all your devices.
- Every profile you're an owner of is hidden from everyone on Koala.
- We stop pulling new data from the social accounts connected to those profiles.
What gets deleted after 30 days
- Your account and sign-in details.
- Every profile you're an owner of, with its posts, comments and messages, even if other people help run it.
Profiles where you're an admin, moderator or member stay with their owners. You lose access, and what you posted there stays.
Changed your mind?
Sign back in within 30 days and tap Cancel deletion. Your profiles come back. Once the deletion has started, it can't be cancelled.
What we may keep
We keep a small amount of information only where we need to:
- A record that you asked for deletion and when it was completed.
- Reports about safety or abuse involving your account, so rules can't be dodged by deleting and signing up again.
- Copies in our encrypted backups, until they're overwritten on our normal [N]-day schedule.
